From humble beginnings in an old schoolhouse, God has provided the means for this rural community of believers to construct a beautiful contemporary sanctuary where its congregants come together weekly to strengthen one another in Christ. At Pleasant Valley Community Church, we believe the Body of Christ is comprised of people who have been saved by the atoning blood of Jesus Christ regardless of denominational affiliation. We also believe every Christian is called to serve a divine purpose according to God’s Will within their local community, the mission field, or wherever God has planted them. Pleasant Valley supports local evangelism through a hand of fellowship with Cornerstone Television, where its services air three times weekly on Pittsburgh’s Faith & Family Channel, and with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF), a 501c3 dedicated to the salvation of children.
Internationally, Pleasant Valley supports missionaries in Bolivia, Panama, and New Guinea. Amid a world distracted by so many frivolous things, we endeavor to center our hearts on the real purpose of life, which is to Love the Lord thy God with all our heart, with all our soul, with all our strength, and with all our mind, and our neighbor as ourself, Luke 10:27, and to walk in un-comprising obedience to the Life of Christ and the Word of God.
In 2005, with missionary hearts, Scott and Rachel were married, and within one year, they moved to Kenya, Africa. In Africa, they worked with local schools, helped establish an orphan feeding program, and preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After three years of missionary work, they moved back to Pittsburgh, where they presently reside with their four beautiful children.
